Narrabeen North Public School
Narrabeen North Public School has delivered an exceptional parent volunteer program to support students at the school who are interested in experiencing snow sports, with 17 students joining the team in 2023.
Many of the Narrabeen North Public School students had previously never been involved in snow sports competitions, so the school coordinator Kris Hoxking established a creative way for the students to prepare locally on the Northern Beaches.
Using cul de sacs, students used old race bibs and practiced getting into race order on scooters, to try and mimic what the competition environment would be like. They also created mock-up gates to expose them to the racing process.
