Snow Academy is the umbrella for all of Snow Australia's education and training pathway and programs. Coaching Fundamentals is the first level of coaching accreditation to be rolled out under the Snow Academy.

Course: Alpine Fundamentals 1-Day Practical Workshop

When: ~ 8:00am - 4:30pm (TBC with registered participants)

Location: Thredbo

Who is this course for? Any candidates that have completed the Snow Australia Alpine Fundamentals online course.

All course participants must register for this course via this page.

Course Fee: 

• Free - Thredbo Ski Racing Club coaches and Thredbo Snow Sports coaches
• $120 - All other coaches

Pre-requisites:

• All candidates must have current Snow Australia membership.
  (All categories except Snowracer)
• All candidates must have completed the relevant Coach Fundamentals Online Modules .
  (Introduction to Coaching plus Discipline)
• APSI Level 2 (unless an exemption has been granted by the relevent National Discipline Committee).

Course Content/Schedule 

The Alpine 1-day course covers the following material:

• Off-ski warm-up / activation
• Freeski warm-up
• Freeski skill development
• GS skill development
• Course safety

The day schedule will be communicated directly with registered participants.

Pre-Workshop Webinar/Meeting

Prior to the on-snow workshop all participants are required to take part in a pre-course meeting facilitated by the presenter and the Snow Australia discipline lead. Details will be communicated directly with registered participants.

Equipment

Participants should arrive to the workshop with ski equipment ready to head out onto the snow.

Accreditation Information

Snow Australia's Coaching Fundamentals consists of online education and practical workshops designed for coaches working predominantly at Interschools, club and domestic level in Australia. The full requirements for Coaching Fundamentals accreditation are available in the Coach Accreditation section of the Snow Australia website.
