Special Information - Yarra Boulevard Sprint

  • Prior to 1.00pm the Teardrop Loop is open to cyclists and pedestrians. Please keep an eye out and be courteous to all other road users.
  • The nearest toilets and water are available at the car park near the Studley Park Boathouse.

Special Information - Lake Mountain Hill Climb

  • Participants warming up before the start on the road must be acutely aware that normal road traffic situations exist before the official road closure & a cautious approach to everyone’s safety is essential.
  • After the start at all times participants MUST keep to the left hand side of the road (apart from the initial start) including overtaking. Even though the road is closed, we must allow for downhill traffic in the rare case of emergency vehicles or resort management vehicles completing essential tasks.
  • In the case of wet/slippery conditions the start may be shifted to the bottom of the first hill, 200m past the ticket box.
  • A separate start at Arnold’s Gap will occur for under 16 or novice participants. Transport from the ticket box to Arnold’s Gap for these participants must be completed in time before the road closure is in place (10:15)
  • Likewise, any shuttle or ride-sharing arrangements need to be completed (past Arnold's Gap) by 10:15.
  • A time cutoff of 11:30 will be in place at Arnold’s Gap for the 10km distance, participants will be driven to the top in this case.
  • A tail-end vehicle will follow at the end of the field to ‘sweep’ or act as backup for DNF participants.
  • Any following vehicles (usually parents or partners) associated with participant pickup at the top or spectating must not pass competitors in an unsafe manner (blind corners or when participants are more than single file).

Helmets & Safety Equipment

An Australian Standards approved cycle helmet must be worn. Eyewear (glasses) must be worn. Poles must have baskets approved for rollerski racing. Knee & elbow guards are optional.

Health Protocols

All participants (including officials, volunteers and spectators) should not attend an event if they have a sore throat, cough, cold or flu-like symptoms, with fever or respiratory symptoms.
