2023-2024 Victorian XC Ski Team

The Victorian Cross Country Ski Team provides coaching, training opportunities and support for Victorian junior athletes. After a lull in program activity in 2020-2022 due to COVID-19, in 2023
VIC XC is back and ready to build towards a full-year program.

2023-2024 Membership Inclusions

• General coaching and training advice.
• Ability to participate in training sessions, training camps, and other activities
• Coaching and waxing support at designated events (see below).
• Ability to purchase team uniforms, including T-shirts, Hoodies and Race/Warm-Up clothing

Team Fee

• $110 (including GST)

Additional fees will apply for camps and additional coaching (e.g. training plans, weekly and weekend on-snow coaching, see below).

Pre-Requisites

Members of the Victorian XC Ski Team must also be financial members of Snow Australia. HOWEVER! New Snow Australia members can register to be a member of the VICXC now using the free Snowracer membership, and then purchase the XC Sport Racer (or higher category of Snow Australian membership) after the 2023-2024 membership year begins in May. XC Sport membership allows entry into all state and national championship events, as well as other AUSXC development activities.

2023 Information Meetings

An information meeting for parents and athletes will be held at the Abbotsford Convent in Melbourne on Saturday April 29, the morning of the Victorian Rollerski races at Studley Park. For those unable to attend, a virtual meeting will be held at another time.

• May 20-21 - VIC XC Team Weekend Camp @ Mt Beauty
• July 1-5 - VIC XC Team On-Snow Camp @ Falls Creek

Registration for both these camps will be open soon.

Coaching and waxing support will be provided at the following events this winter:

• Saturday 15th July: Victorian Junior Championships - Sprint C @ Falls Creek
• Sunday 16th July: Victorian Junior Championships - Distance F @ Falls Creek
• Saturday 29th July: Australian Open Championships - Sprint C @ Perisher
• Sunday 30th July: Australian Open Championships - 15km F @ Perisher
• Saturday 19th August: Australian Open Championships - Sprint F @ Falls Creek
• Sunday 20th August: Australian Open Championships - 10km C @ Falls Creek
• Saturday 2nd September: Australian Junior Championships - Sprint C @ Perisher
• Sunday 3rd September: Australian Junior Championships - Distance F @ Perisher

Additional Coaching Services

Details of the VICXC Winter Program are currently being developed for the VIC XC Committee. The intention is that the following will be available in partnership with the AUSXC National Training Centre at Falls Creek:

• Regular weekend on-snow group training
• Mid-week group training sessions
• Technique analysis and development
