On behalf of Snow Australia's Women of Winter (WoW), and Falls Creek, we welcome those in the Snowsports industry to a networking night to empower and connect with women within the industry.

This event is brought to you by the Women of Winter initiative which aims to champion and empower Snowsports Women to reach their full potential through professional development, training and networking opportunities, leading to an increase of women working and volunteering in the Snowsports Industry.

The networking evening is an opportunity to make connections with women employed in our diverse snow industry, create an awareness of career and volunteer opportunities within the community, and support women to stay involved in Snowsports. In building this network, we aim to increase awareness of available roles, promote potential career paths and establish mentors.

Whether you are a seasoned professional or new to the industry, this event is aimed at promoting and supporting the precense of women in the industry.

The event is being held in collaboration with Snow Australia, Women of Winter, and Falls Creek.

Kat Paul -

An enthusiastic individual currently competing on the Australian Cross-Country Ski Team, I'm eager to expand my horizons in Sports Management.Alongside my athletic endeavours, I actively support diversity and inclusion in sports, proudly serving as both an Australian Institute of Sport "Thrive with Pride" Ambassador and a “Good Village Program” Ambassador. Additionally, I hold a position as a non-executive board member for Biathlon Australia. In addition to my athletic pursuits, I've dipped my toes into sports media, offering commentary for live and international cross-country skiing events with Ski Classics Play. This experience has allowed me to contribute unique insights and enhance the viewer experience. I have recently started working in the sports media industry as a sports journalist for an winter based international sports media company. As an elite athlete, I've sharpened my time management skills and cultivated a competitive nature that drives success both on and off the field. As Kieren Perkins mentioned from his time as an athlete through to business , “You become incredibly adept at dealing with what you can control and not getting caught up in the what ifs.”

Emma Edwards -

Emma Edwards is the longest-standing junior instructor at Falls Creek and has lived locally her whole life. She started skiing at 3, and after going through Snow Club and the local Gromets programme, she knew she wanted to be a ski instructor. Emma is aiming for her snowboard APSI level 1 next winter. And if a chance arises, her big dream is to be in a ski movie, but for now, she's loving life as an instructor, inspiring future kids, just like her past instructors inspired her.

Sammi Tatterson -

Sammi has lived at Falls Creek since she was born. Sammi’s love for the skiing started at 20 months old and has been strong since. Having her Mum work in the industry, Sammi was keen to intertwine her love for skiing with working in the industry. Sammi started working for Guest Services in 2023 during school holidays and on weekends. Completing Year 12 this year, Sammi is excited for finishing up and to commence a gap year somewhere in the Northern Hemisphere.
