Athlete Expression of Interest
Snow Australia is seeking expressions of interest from athletes to compete in Ski Mountaineering (SkiMo) World Cup events during the 2024-25 international winter season.
What is SkiMo?
SkiMo is a new Olympic Winter Sport that will be contested for the first time in Milano Cortina 2026. SkiMo World Cups feature five types of events: Sprint, Vertical, Individual, Mixed Relay and Team. The Sprint and Mixed Team events will be contested in the Olympics in 2026.

Who is ELIGIBLE TO COMPETE?
To be eligible to compete in World Cup events athletes need to be registered with Snow Australia as a SkiMo International Racer, which includes an International Ski Mountaineering Federation (ISMF) race licence. In addition, athletes need to demonstrate appropriate proficiency in the sport through experience in national or regional competitions. This is particularly important for SkiMo Individual events. Finally, athletes must have insurance that covers SkiMo competition.

- 12-15 December - Courcheval (FRA)
- 11-12 January - Shadag (AZE)
- 25-26 January - Arinsal - La Massana (AND)
- 1-2 February - Boi Taull (SPA)
- 21-23 February - Bormio (ITA)
- 2-9 March - Morgins (SUI) World Championship*
- 14-15 March - Schladming (AUT)
- 20-22 March - Val Martello (ITA)
- 4-5 April - Villars-sur-Ollon (SUI)
- 10-12 April - Tromso (NOR)
