XC 2024/2025 International Events

Athlete Expression of Interest

Snow Australia is seeking preliminary expressions of interest from athletes to compete in international cross country skiing events and tours during the 2024-25 northern hemisphere winter. Please note that these EOIs are for planning purposes, formal registration including deposits will be sought at a later date. The rough costs indicated below do not include flights or insurance.

2025 World University Games

January 11-13, Torino (ITA)
- Cross Country events in Pragelato

Estimated event fee: $3000-$3500
- Including OC and Australian University Sport fees, accommodation, meals, coaching, waxing, land transport

Support staff: Minimum 1 coach/wax tech, plus Australian University Sport management

2025 World Junior/U23 Championship

February 1-9, Schilpario (ITA)

Estimated event fee: $2,350
-  Including accommodation, meals, coaching, waxing, land transport

Support staff: 3-4 coaches/wax techs depending on team size

2025 World Junior/U23 Championship Preparation Camp

3-4 weeks, likely based in Italy (possibly Toblach/Obertilliach)

Estimated camp fee: $4000 (~$150/day)
- Including coaching, accommodation, meals, waxing, land transport
- FIS and local events TBC

Support staff: 1-2 coaches depending on the number of athletes

OPA Tour

Duration TBC in December/January
Events may include OPA and/or Nation cup races in Austria, Germany, Switzerland and Italy

Note: This tour would be for athletes who already have international competition and racing experience.

Estimated Tour fee: Approximately $100-$150/day
- Athletes will need to cover all their own travel and accommodation costs
- Additional event support fees may apply

Support staff: 1-2 coach/wax techs TBC

Junior Development Tour

3-4 weeks, Canada TBC (other locations also considered)
- likely starting after Christmas

Note: This Tour would be for athletes aged 16-20 not currently aiming for World Junior Championships.

Estimated camp fee: $4000 (~$150/day)
- Including coaching, accommodation, meals, waxing, land transport
- Local events TBC

Support staff: 1-2 coaches depending on the number of athletes

World Cup Events 2024/2025

National Team athletes seeking to race World Cup and the World Championship should discuss directly with team coaches.
