Background
The AUSXC Junior Tour for 2018/19 is designed both for athletes aiming to race at the 2019 World Junior Championships and athletes building towards future international events. The first part of the tour will be based predominantly in Davos, Switzerland, with daily training and living arrangements managed by Australian Team coaches. OPA Cup and local Swiss competitions will be used for World Junior Championship preparation and racing experience. A World Juniors pre-camp will be held in Bruksvallarna in Sweden before the team heads to Lahti for the World Juniors.
Program Dates
- Arrival in Davos: December 8 (unless otherwise negotiated)
- Training in Davos: December 8 – January 2
- OPA Cup, Valdidentro, ITA: December 21-23
- Final WJC-U23 Preparation, Bruksvallarna, SWE: January 2-17 (including Asarna Scandic Cup)
- World Junior/U23 Championship in Lahti, Finland: January 17-26
- Departure for Australia or own program: January 27
Who Can Attend?
This tour is for members of the Australian Junior Team. Additional performance criteria (A and B standards) applies for selection to the 2018 World Junior-U23 Championships.
Finances & Deposit
Preliminary trip expenses have already been circulated to Australian Junior Team athletes. A deposit of $1000 is required by Friday September 14. The full tour fee will then need to be paid prior to athletes departing from Australia. Please note credit card transactions will incur a 2% fee.
