BACKGROUND

The AUSXC Emerging Talent Camps provide a stepping stone between the state squads and the Australian Junior Team. Talented young athletes in the U16 age class are introduced to National Team training methods and given insight into the pathway opportunities ahead of them. This April camp at the AIS in Canberra covers dryland training and an introduction into physiological testing, and also includes education sessions on nutrition and recovery.

INVITATIONS

Athletes are selected for the AUSXC U16 Emerging Talent camps based predominantly on their performances in the U16 competitions at the Australian Junior Championship, with additional consideration of performances at state championships. For September 2018 and April 2019 skiers born in 2003 and 2004 are invited.

Dates: Thursday-Sunday, April 11-14
Location: AIS, Canberra
Activities: Rollersking, running, Ski-Erg & strength tests, also including the 2019 Australian Rollerski Championship
Coaches: National Team Head Coach Valerio Leccardi, National Team athletes, State coaches.
Cost: $300 (covering coaching, accommodation and meals Thursday dinner to Sunday breakfast, rollerski race entry)
Register: Please register by Sunday March 11 to confirm your place on the camp.
