BACKGROUND

The AUSXC Junior Development Program provides a stepping stone between the state squads and the Australian Junior Team. Talented young athletes are introduced to National Team training methods and given insight into the pathway opportunities ahead of them.

INVITATIONS

Athletes are invited to this camp based on previously identified through performances in state and Australian Championship events, Expression of Interest submitted in November 2020, and an ongoing commitment to training for cross country skiing.

CAMP DETAILS

This April camp in Canberra is a non-residential camp, including rollerskiing, running, ski-simulation activities, physical screening and educational sessions, and also  the 2021 Australian Rollerski Championship

Dates: Thursday-Sunday, April 8-11
Location: Canberra (including the AIS and Stromlo Forest Park)
First Session:6:30-8:00pm at the AIS - Race planning, preparation and review
Coaches:
- National Team Head Coach Valerio Leccardi
- National Program Director Finn Marsland
- 2018 Winter Olympian Casey Wright
- other coaches TBC.
Cost: $132 (participants must also have current Snow Australia XC Base membership)
Register: Please register by Sunday March 21 to confirm your place on the camp.

COVID-19 PROTOCOLS

Following Snow Australia policy all participants of this camp must follow Covid-19 hygiene and physical distancing protocols. Any athletes exhibiting any cold / flu or other Covid-19 symptoms should not travel to attend this camp, nor attend any sessions if symptoms develop during the camp. More details will be provided to all participants leading in to the camp. Any athlete needing to withdraw from the camp due to Covid-18 related restrictions will receive a full refund.
