ATHLETE WELLBEING AND ENGAGEMENT
Athlete Wellbeing and Engagement (AW&E) is being embedded within our high-performance sport pathway through a sport specific framework co-created with the AIS with input from our high-performance athletes, coaches, service providers and supporters. The framework details services and resources available to categorised athletes that focus on their holistic development,
Including:
- Career/education guidance, professional development and work experience opportunities
- Personal development
- Community engagement and networking events
- Conduct and integrity education
- Mental health services
- Online education units on myAISplaybook
- Transition support
- Resources and support for parents, partners, and supporters
For all athletes, Snow Australia realises the importance of AW&E for the whole of sport pathway and therefore provides links to resources available in the areas of Mental Health, Career and Education and Personal Development. From time to time, there may be opportunities available in the areas of Engagement and Conduct and professionalism to be delivered on a case-by-case basis.
The topics covered with resources on this page are as follows:
Mental Health | Career and Education | Personal Development |
Snow Australia wants to make sure everyone within our organisation – past and present – feels safe to share their experiences and seek support if they ever need it. We want to make sure you are aware of AIS Be Heard, a free, independent and confidential support service for current and former athletes, coaches and staff in Australian high performance sport. We will always encourage you to use the wellbeing services within our organisation as you need them, but we also understand you may feel more comfortable turning to someone else for help on occasions. Our main priority is that you do seek and get that support if, and when, you need it. The AIS Be Heard website details some of the issues you may want to discuss and how they can help. It can be anonymous and there are no obligations – you are in control of your situation and how you’d like it to be handled. www.ais.gov.au/AISBe-Heard |
