Sportscover Competition Insurance

Snow Australia in association with Insurance Advisernet (IA) are proud to provide nominated Australian Ski and Snowboard athletes the opportunity to purchase Travel / Competition insurance. Access to this policy is limited to approved categorised participants (Emerging Talent Program, Institute Scholarship athletes and National Team Members). 

IA, is one of Australia’s biggest and most trusted General Insurance Brokers. Our Authorised Representative, Anne Hartree, Director of ALH Insurance Services Pty Ltd has been looking after Snow Australia’s insurance program for over 20 years, ensuring both appropriate cover and great service. 

New for 2024/2025

Eligible athletes can now purchase a one-time "up to 20 days cover" policy for a specific period while overseas, typically for competing in one or two events. As long as the events occur within the nominated 20 days, they do not need to buy the Sportscover policy for their entire time away.

Please note:

  • The 20 days cover can only be purchased ONCE. There is no cover for any claims occurring outside the nominated period. If there are competitions outside the nominated 20 day period then the athlete needs to purchase the entire travel period.
  • The athlete must have Travel Insurance in place for the entire duration and any claim outside of Training and Competition will be directed to that insurance.
  • Ensure that your Travel Insurance covers any training conducted outside the 20 day period.

In summary the Competition and Travel Insurance Policy provides protection via the following policy components:

Access to this policy is limited to approved categorised participants (Emerging Talent Program, Institute Scholarship athletes and National Team Members).
