Ben made his Halfpipe World Cup debut in Whistler in 2002, placing 21st. In 2004, Ben became the first male halfpipe rider to make a World Cup final, alongside Andrew Burton, in Bardonecchia, Italy. He placed 9th overall. He made his Olympic debut at the Torino 2006 Winter Olympic Games. Throughout his career, he competed in 36 World Cups and 3 World Championships. In January 2009, he achieved his best career result, a Silver Gujo Halfpipe World Cup medal.
