She has been to the World Junior Championships, World U23 Championships, the World Cup, the PyeongChang 2018 and Beijing 2022 Winter Olympics. That’s come from avidly chasing the snow for 10 years in both the northern and southern hemispheres. During the Australian winter Casey trains with the Australian XC Ski Team at Falls Creek. For the northern winter the Australian Team has been based in Davos, Switzerland, for the racing season. In addition to an education degree in Australia, Casey studied health sciences for three years at the University of Alaska in Anchorage. She earned NCAA (National Collegiate Athletic Association) All-American honours at her final national championships in 2019 with the Seawolves team. Her PyeongChang 2018 results had her 81st in the sprint free and 63rd in the sprint classic. Four years on at Beijing 2022 she returned to those events and added two more on her schedule, the team sprint classic and the 30km mass start free. Finishing 65th in the sprint free was an improvement of 16 places compared to PyeongChang 2018. Casey linked up with Jessica Yeaton in the team sprint classic and ended up 16th overall. On the final day of Beijing 2022 she placed 56th in the 30km mass start free, a Personal Best individual result in any Olympic event. |
