Discipline: Para Alpine Guide

Paralympic Participation: Sochi 2014, PyeongChang 2018

Christian began skiing at the age of two in Austria, before moving to Australia 8 years later. He made the Alpine National Team in 2006. He won numerous Australian Championships during his teenage years and represented Australia at the 2008 World Junior Alpine Skiing Championships and the 2009 FIS Alpine World Ski Championships. An unfortunate car crash later that year forced him to retire from able bodied competition.

In 2013, Australian Paralympic Alpine Head Coach Steve Graham asked Christian to be the sighted guide for Jessica Gallagher. In their first competition, the 2013 IPC Alpine Skiing World Cup in Thredbo, he guided Jessica to silver medals in women's slalom and giant slalom.

At the 2014 Winter Paralympics in Sochi, the pair won a bronze medal in the Giant Slalom. They came seventh in the women's slalom.

In 2015, he became Head Coach of Australia’s Para-Alpine skiing program.

Following Jessica's move to para-cycling, Christian became the sighted guide for Melissa Perrine, the most decorated female winter Paralympian.

Competing at the PyeongChang 2018 Test Event and IPC World Cup in South Korea the pair placed bronze in the Downhill and the Super-G.

At the 2018 Winter Paralympics in Pyeongchang, Christian guided Melissa to bronze medal wins in the women's super combined and giant slalom visually impaired events. The pair also placed fourth in the slalom and fifth in the downhill and super-G visually impaired.

Christian was also the coach for Melissa, and fellow team member Victoria Pendergast. After the PyeongChang 2018 Paralympics Christian focused on his coaching career and currently the FIS coach at Thredbo Ski Racing Club.
