Emily is the first female athlete to represent Australia at the Olympics in Snowboard Cross.

The NSW athlete made her international debut at the World Snowboard Championships in Kreischberg, Austria in 2003 finishing 20th . She made her World Cup debut in the following season in Chile. Throughout her career she competed in 16 World Cups, with her best placing a 21st in the 2005 World Cup at Lake Placid, USA.

Emily finished in 21st place in snowboard cross at the Torino 2006 Olympic Winter Games. She. She retired from international competition following the Torino Olympics.
