MITCHELL ALLAN

Discipline: Snowboard

Olympic Participation: Torino 2006

Bursting on to the World Cup stage at only 16 in Whistler, Mitchell Allan excelled in the Halfpipe from an early age. The boy from Nowra was the youngest member of the Australian team that made their way to Torino in 2006.

In the halfpipe event, he produced a clean run in the first qualification but lacking amplitude. In the second qualifying, he was possibly heading into the 12-man finals, landing impressive tricks with great amplitude but clipped the edge of the pipe on his final hit. Nevertheless, the Jindabyne rider was ecstatic with his second run and competing in the Olympics. While he placed 31st, he was the best performing Aussie at the event.

Mitchell’s best individual performance was standing on the podium in 3rd place in 2008 at his home mountain Perisher. His final competition was Cardona in 2008 where he placed 27th.
