pETER BOOAERTS
Discipline: Para Alpine Peter Boonaerts is a one time Olympian, competing at the 2002 Salt Lake City Paraympics where he competed for Australia in Para Alpine. While he was born in New Zealand, Peter grew up in Manly. After suffering his injury, he was inspired by a disabled skiing magazine and wanted to get into the sport of ‘Sit Skiing’. As an LW12/1 athlete, he first represented Australia in 1999 with his greatest sporting achievement being claiming a Bronze medal in Slalom at the 2000 Switzerland 2000 World Championships. At Salt Lake City he came 10th in the Slalom, 9th in the Giant Slalom, 14th in the Downhill and a DNF in the Super GS. |
