Stephanie Magiros
1991-
Discipline: Snowboard Halfpipe Enrolled in gymnastics at two years of age, Stephanie Magiros competed in the sport at a National level for 15 years before making a transition to snow sports, including five National Championships participation in artistic gymnastics. She started focusing on halfpipe snowboarding at 17, progressing rapidly in the sport and becoming a NSWIS scholarship recipient in just six years, also securing a spot in the Australian Olympic team for Sochi 2014 in the process. In Russia Magiros made the semi-finals and finished 18th. Between 2011 and 2014 she took part in 11 World Cup events, making her debut in 2011 in Cardrona (NZL) and achieving her best World Cup result in Park City, USA, in 2013, with a 10th place. Once retired from competitive snow sport, Magiros leveraged her gymnastics background to become a Yoga & Acrobatics Teacher. |
