Born in Paris, France, in 1923 and later naturalised Australian, Tony Aslangul was part of the team participating at the 1956 Olympic Winter Games at Cortina d'Ampezzo, Italy. It was the third appearance at the Olympic Winter Games for Australia, who sent five athletes to compete in Alpine skiing.
 
Tony made his Olympic debut on the 29 January 1956 scoring a 71st place (out of 95 participants) in the Men's Giant Slalom contested on the slopes of Mount Faloria. A few days later he also participated in the Men's Slalom, but didn't make it to the Finish line of the first run.
 
Alongside his ski racing career, Tony was also an entrepreneur and owned Auski, Australia's oldest snow gear retailer originating in 1949.
