AUSTRALIAN TEAM SELECTION PROCESSES FOR THE MILANO CORTINA 2026 PARALYMPIC WINTER GAMES
In preparation for Australian Team Selection for Milano Cortina 2026 Paralympic Games, the International Paralympic Committee (IPC) will develop information on the Nomination & Selection Process and details of the Nomination Criteria for Milano Cortina 2026. SELECTION TO THE AUSTRALIA PARALYMPIC WINTER GAMES TEAM
Selection to the Australian Paralympic Winter Games Team will be outlined in the following steps:
Step 3 - Nomination to PA Selection Committee
Step 4 - Selection to the Australian Paralympic Team
STEP 1 - LONG LIST
Athletes are chosen to the National Federation "LONG LIST" for the respective discipline/ sport. This may involve meeting a minimum performance standard and completing the following steps.
STEP 2 - QUALIFICATION SYSTEM
Qualification is achieved through meeting the minimum IPC standards as outlined below. Athletes who are on the National Federation Long List and meet the minimum qualification standards are eligible to be considered by the Snow Australia Nomination criteria.
MILANO CORTINA 2026 PARALYMPIC WINTER GAMES QUALIFICATION REGULATIONS
STEP 3 - NOMINATION TO PA SELECTION COMMITTEE
Nomination is achieved through meeting the criteria outlined by the Snow Australia Nomination Criteria. Athletes who meet this criteria are nominated to Paralympics Australia (PA) for selection.

STEP 4 - SELECTION BY PARALYMPICS AUSTRALIA (PA)
The PA Selection Committee (PA) will then select nominated athletes according to the Selection Criteria. This process may also include the following requirements;
- Compliance with PA By-Laws, Policies and Standards of Behaviour
- Signed Team Membership Agreement and Disclosure
- Signed Entry and Eligibility Form
