2016/17 NSWIS Wintersport Program Scholarship Announced

Ski & Snowboard Australia (SSA) has a proud tradition of supporting athletes in their sporting pursuits. The cornerstone to the success of SSA athletes and programs is the partnerships SSA has with select institutes of sport. SSA has a long established program partnership with the Olympic Winter Institute of Australia (OWIA) to deliver strategic program outcomes for elite high performance programs, with the NSW Institute of Sport (NSWIS) being the primary Institute partner for Winter Sport Winning Edge, Tier 1 foundation sports.

The NSWIS Winter Sports Program is supported as an international development program with a world class component delivered in partnership with the OWIA, SSA and NSW Snow Sports (NSWSS).

Jindabyne Sport and Recreation Centre (JSRC) and the ski resorts of Kosciuszko Thredbo and Perisher also partner the Program through the provision of venues and facilities.

The Program supports the daily operations of Freestyle Moguls, Park and Pipe (Ski and Snowboard), Snowboard Cross and Ski Cross in partnership with OWIA and SSA, with the aim to provide athletes with world-class coaching, training and competition, facilities and support.

In addition, a small number of individual scholarships are offered in the disciplines of Alpine, Biathlon and Cross Country Skiing.
