2021 FIS Rollerski International

Snow Australia is set to conduct the first ever FIS rollerski races in Australia this summer. Freestyle sprint and interval start events will be held on the 1.2km criterium loop at Stromlo Forest Park in Canberra on the weekend of January 16-17.
"We've conducted rollerski races at this venue for eight years now, but with most of the national team home in Australia this summer we figured it was time to take the competitions up to the next level," said Finn Marsland, Snow Australia Cross-country Skiing Program Director. "The main difference with the FIS events is that the events will be conducted over two days with the same rigour undertaken for on-snow FIS events, and the timing will meet FIS specifications."
Less than a handful of Australian Team athletes have been able to travel overseas to compete on World Cup this summer, and no junior international racing is being supported. As FIS points from rollerski events are the same as for on-snow events, athletes will be able to use these races to maintain FIS rankings and to qualify for next season's World Junior Championship and World Cup, and even to help qualify for the 2022 Olympic Winter Games.
Two more FIS rollerski events are planned for Canberra in April.
