2023 Community Sport Award Nominations are now open

Snow Australia is calling on the community to nominate individuals, schools, clubs, and programs for the fourth edition of the Snow Australia Community Sport Awards (CSA).  

The CSA recognise the extraordinary contributions of individuals, clubs, and programs at the development and pathway level of the sport. 

Online nominations are now open and close October 20. The Awards will be announced as a series of online stories and announcements in November. 

 

HOW TO NOMINATE

 

Clubs, schools, resorts, program providers, and Snow Australia committees/personnel, may put forward nominations.

A representative for the club, committee, school, resort, or program provider can complete the nomination.

Please note that nominations for Emerging Talent Athlete Awards is through Snow Australia only.

Through the online application form, detailed information should be provided regarding the nominee’s performance and/or achievements.

To submit your nomination please consider the following details:

  • Achievements must fall within the period November 2022 to October 2023, except for the service to snowsport awards.
  • Read the Selection Criteria thoroughly and ensure that your nominee meets these.
  • Ensure that the nominee is informed about, and has accepted, the nomination you will be putting forward
  • Submit the online nomination via the links below by October 20.

Spirit of Interschools Award

The Spirit of Interschools award seeks to recognise an individual student who, through their actions, have embodied the spirit of Interschool Snowsport competition. This award is not necessarily about performance but considers participation in multiple disciplines and events, multiclass participation and support, longevity, leadership, and support of their own school Snowsports program.

Outstanding School Achievement

An award to highlight an outstanding or unique school snow sports activity, program, or initiative delivered in 2023, that grew and/or supported participation at the school level.

Snowsports Official Award

Snowsport officials who have demonstrated excellence in their role as an official anytime during the nomination period.

Young Achiever Award

An award to recognise a young athlete who has achieved excellence both on and off the snow, or who has overcome adversity, or achieved something special within the community.

Emerging Talent Program (ETP) Athlete Awards

These awards are presented to an athlete per discipline in the Snow Australia ETP who is deemed to have achieved outstanding results at an international, national, and/or state level and maintained a high level of focus, dedication, and commitment toward training and personal improvement.

Nominations for Emerging Talent Athlete Awards is through Snow Australia only.

 

Club Coach Award

This award recognises the exceptional contribution made by a club coach during the nomination period either on or off snow, with a focus on improving community sport through encouraging participation, fairness, and integrity and making Snowsports more welcoming, safe, and inclusive.

Pathway Club Excellence Award

This award recognises a pathway club or program that has delivered a program, project, campaign, or implemented a plan, which has provided significant benefits to their club or program.

Service to Snowsport

This award recognises individuals in the Snowsport community who have made a positive difference in the opportunities and experiences available to others over a long period of time. They could be a paid or volunteer administrator, official, supporter, snowsports coordinator, or coach, who has provided support, encouragement, or inspiration through hard work, often through self-sacrifice and without personal gain.
