7 Things you need to know for Subaru National Interschools Championships

From tomorrow thousands of school students will begin gathering at Perisher for the 2018 Subaru Australian Interschools SnowSports Championships and their chance to be crowned a national champion.
Here are 7 must know details you need to read before competition gets underway:
- School aged students from across Australia will take part in the national event which runs from 5-9 September and provides them with a taste of high level competition. To visit the event webpage on Snowracer - click here.
- Stay on top of all the latest results and which events are coming up each day with SSA’s free Snowracer APP – it even includes an interactive cowbell feature for you to cheer friends and family on while at the snow!
- Perisher in New South Wales’ snowy mountains will welcome 3,380 students from over 250 schools to their slopes for the event.
- Participants range from kindergarten right through to Year 12, competing in the division corresponding with their school year.
Division 1: Years 11 & 12
Division 2: Years 9 & 10
Division 3: Years 7 & 8
Division 4: Years 5 & 6
Division 5: Year 4 and below
Division 6: Kindergarten – Years 2 (Alpine and Skiercross only)
- All students lining up at the Championships have progressed from their Regional and State Interschools Championships, successfully navigating the increase in competition and degree of difficulty at each level.
- Participants will compete in nine disciplines including Alpine Giant Slalom, Snowboard Giant Slalom, Snowboard Cross, Ski Cross, Moguls, Cross Country Classical, Cross Country Freestyle Relay, Slopestyle Ski and Slopestyle Snowboard. To view the full schedule of events – click here.
- All participants and adults can ski for free on Saturday night, 8 September with fireworks also due to go off at 7:20pm.
