Snow Australia is pleased to announce 10 cross country athletes who have been selected to compete at the 2020 FIS Nordic Junior and U23 World Ski Championships.

The World Championships are set to take place in Oberwiesenthal, Germany from 29 February to 6 March.

Competing in the U23 division, Australian competitor Seve de Campo has been selected in his second U23 World Championships team after a solid season of racing.

Notching up personal best performances at the recent World Cup, OPA Cup and Norwegian Championship events during the northern hemisphere winter, de Campo comes into the World Championships with solid preparation under his belt.

“It has been a good season so far for me with some really consistent racing and I feel I have made a good step forward,” Seve said.

“I’m really excited to compete at this years’ U23 World Champs as I know I’ve done everything this year to put my best foot forward and get some great results.”

Australia’s junior team includes two A-qualified athletes, Rosie Fordham and Bentley Walker-Broose.

While this will be Rosie’s World Championships Junior debut, she has already experienced a high level of competition this season, recently returning from the Lausanne 2020 Winter Youth Olympic Games where she achieved an impressive 36th place in the 5km Classic.

Bentley has also seen his success saw during the international season, having raced at the 2019 World Juniors in Finland and achieved a series of strong results during the OPA Cup.

The Australian Junior and U23 World Championships team are currently in Davos, Switzerland undergoing their final preparations under the supervision of coaches Valerio Leccardi, Iris Pessey and Thomas McMahon.
