Aussies bring home the medals at the World Para SBXÂ World Cup in Pyha

Australia's Simon Patmore and Joany Badenhorst have each medalled at the Para Snowboard World Cup in Pyha, Finland in snowboard-cross.
Patmore emerged as the winner in the men’s SB-UL, which was his first victory this season after taking silver in banked slalom at the first World Cup in Treble Cone, New Zealand.
Patmore crossed finished ahead of France’s Maxime Montaggioni.
“I’m super stoked about my performance and I’m super stoked that all the other riders did well too,” Patmore said.
Australia’s Joany Badenhorst also finished twice on the podium, taking home two bronze medals behind an undefeated Lisa Bunschoten (Netherlands).
It was a strong performance from Ben Tudhope as well who finished in ninth and eight place respectively.
The Pyha World Cup is the first time riders are racing in boarder-cross this season ahead of the PyeongChang 2018 Paralympic Winter Games in March, and the results from the weekend proved anything can happen making for an exciting spectacle in less than 100 days’ time.
The team now heads to North America for the Dew Tour / World Para Snowboard Banked Slalom races.
