Four of Australia’s talented, up and coming Snowboardcross athletes are looking to take on the world’s best junior riders as they prepare for the FIS Snowboard Junior World Championships in Klinovec, Czech Republic, starting next Wednesday 15-22 February 2017.

“It’s a great looking team that should be confident and strong heading into the Junior World Champs.” Said Jason Clauscen, Head Coach. “I'm looking forward to them relishing the opportunity to represent their country, family and friends in such a big event for their careers so far.”

Previous FIS Snowboard Junior World Championships have seen the likes of Alex Chumpy Pullin and Jarred Hughes on the podium, though Australian athletes are yet to win a gold medal in this event.

A very good chance for a placing in this event, Adam Lambert, 19, has won three out of four of the last Europa Cups in France and Germany and will look to repeat a similar performance in Klinovec. Angus Pennington, 19, has improved leaps and bounds since last season, with good results in recent Nor-Am Cups in Canada and is currently ranked 12th in Nor-Am standings.

In the women’s races, returning from injury is 19 year old Georgia Baff, who finished fifth in the last Nor-Am Cup in Canada, with six podiums from her last 11 races. Youngster Emily Boyce, 16, showed great improvement in the recent Nor-Am Cup in Canada,  also winning a FIS Race in Big White, Canada in January and is currently ranked 8th in Nor-Am standings.
