Australia’s Ben Tudhope rounds off the 2019 Allianz Athlete of the Month for the International Paralympic Committee after being voted the top performer for December.

The 20-year-old snowboarder won a pair of gold medals in the snowboard-cross races at the World Cup in Pyha, Finland. He dedicated his wins to his coach Mikko Wendelin, who passed away just a week before.

Tudhope received 43 per cent of the public votes. Chinese goalballer Mingyuan Yang (28 per cent) finished ahead of Japanese goalballer Haruka Wakasugi (26 per cent). Norwegian cross-country skier Vilde Nilsen and Moroccan blind football player Zouhair Snisla were also nominated.

He joined a host of Australian Paralympians from summer sports with the honours, including Michael Roeger, athletics (April) and Shaun Norris, AUS, wheelchair basketball (November).
