The largest school snowsports event in the World gets underway this week at Mt Buller with the 60th Victorian Interschools Snowsports Championships 21-27 August 2017.

More than 5,200 entries from 190 primary and secondary schools right across Victoria will compete in eight different ski and snowboard disciplines to be crowned the Victorian Interschools snowsports champions.

A launch pad for some of Australia’s current elite ski and snowboard athletes, such as World Champion mogul skier Britt Cox and World Champion halfpipe snowboarder Scotty James, the Interschools will see several up and coming athletes prove themselves in alpine and snowboard racing, mogul skiing, ski and snowboard cross, ski and snowboard slopestyle and alpine challenger events.

SSA Emerging Talent Scholarship team members and National Children’s Squad members will be competing across all disciplines, some of whom may be destined to represent Australia in the near future.

Children of all abilities will get to compete against up and coming skiers and snowboarders.

Melbourne Grammar and St Catherine’s Schools will be looking for back to back wins in both the junior and secondary school divisions in 2017.
