Continental Cup success for SBX and Moguls

A relatively quiet weekend on the World Cup circuit gave way to Continental Cups with Australian athletes scoring strong results in the northern hemisphere.

SNOWBOARD CROSS EUROPEAN CUP - COLERE, ITA
Three-time Olympian Belle Brockhoff has finished with a gold and silver medal at the European Cup snowboard cross event in Italy, as she prepared for the next rounds of World Cup competition. The NSWIS rider now has five career European Cup medals.

Joining Brockhoff on the podium was NSWIS teammate James Johnstone, who finished in second place on day two for his first ever European Cup medal.

This weekend another double European Cup event will take place in Grasgehren, Germany, with events on February 24 and 25.

MOGUL SKIING NOR-AM CUP, APEX CAN
At the Nor-Am mogul competition in Apex, Canada, NSWIS skier George Murphy made it back-to-back podium performances in the dual moguls event with a silver medal finish, to go with his bronze medal from the week before in Deer Valley.

First up was the single moguls, where Oliver Logan - who has also competed in World Cup events this season - had Australia's best result in fourth place. Youth Olympic Games silver medallist Lottie Lodge made the super-final, and finished sixth.

In the dual moguls, youth Olympian Edward Hill nearly joined Murphy on the podium skiing to a personal best Nor-Am finish of fourth place.

The Nor-Am series moves to Val St Come, Canada, for a single moguls competition on February 24, followed by a dual moguls on February 25.
