Dean Gosper Re-Elected to the FIS Council

Snow Australia President, Dean Gosper, has been re-elected to the FIS Council at the recently held 53rd International Ski Congress in Milan, Italy.
Receiving 102 votes, Dean was among 18 individuals elected to the FIS Council under new Statutes that included a minimum gender rule and changes to the votes for small nations.
The FIS Council will be lead by Johan Eliasch who was also re-elected and will sit his second term as FIS President.
Other decisions made at the Congress include changing its name to include 'Snowboard'. The new name of the organisation will be the International Ski & Snowboard Federation with the FIS acronym remaining in use. It was also agreed that FIS would take over the governance of Para Snowsports from the International Paralympic Committee (IPC) including Alpine, Snowboard and Cross Country events.
