Australian Alpine skier Dominic Demschar kick started his northern winter season in style with a bronze at the FIS Men’s Giant Slalom at Copper Mountain earlier this month.

The 24-year-old went on to get his first World Cup start at Beaver Creek amongst a stellar field.

Talking on how the season has started for him, Demschar said “Copper Mountain was nice, I’m starting to find my speed again which is really good.

“The Copper races were really well done and the conditions and weather were awesome. It was also great to be back on the podium.

“Beaver Creek was my first world cup start so that was sweet. The conditions were perfect again with just a bit of wind and scattered cloud cover.

“I felt I skied well but having raced the two previous days my legs started to fail me at the bottom as my energy ran out. That being said I was happy with the day as a whole,” he said.
