Employment opportunity: Snowboard Wax Technician

New South Wales Institute of Sport (NSWIS) is seeking a suitable Snowboard Wax Technician with a passion for high performance winter sports and commitment to excellence.
Travelling with the NSWIS Snowboard Cross Team, the successful candidate will build on the success of the current program to produce high performance results through world class equipment servicing and support.
Working with the NSWIS Snowboard Cross Management Team, the Snowboard Technician will be responsible for:
a) World class equipment preparation and management services
b) Equipment acquisition, including supplier relationships
c) Attending international training and competition
d) Assisting the Head Coach with program administration/logistics
e) Management, repair and transportation of team equipment and wax supplies
f) Mentoring program staff and athletes about equipment selection, preparation and maintenance
The successful applicant will have suitable qualifications and some of the following experiences:
a) International competition wax technician experience at World Championship, World Cup and/or Olympic Winter Games/ Europa Cup and Nor-Am Events.
b) Relevant Tertiary Qualifications or equivalent High Performance Sport experience
c) Possess a high level of personal initiative and autonomy and the ability to work within a team as well as independently.
d) High level networking to effectively develop, maintain and improve partnerships and relationships with sponsors and equipment suppliers
e) Experience with Teams in a coaching capacity.
This is a Northern Hemisphere Winter Season position commencing during November 2017 for a four Month period of scheduled training camps and competition, including World Cups and Europa Cups. This position may extend to further opportunities for the successful candidate during the 2018/2019 Northern Hemisphere Winter Season.
