Australian ski cross athletes, Sami Kennedy-Sim and Anton Grimus had their final chance to nab qualification points this weekend as the final FIS Ski Cross World Cup competition before the PyeongChang 2018 Olympic Winter Games took place in Nakiska, Canada.

Sochi 2014 Olympian, Sami Kennedy-Sim went through qualification on Friday finishing as the 13th fastest athlete, securing herself a spot on the final day of competition. The Sydney-sider went into quarter finals on Saturday but was knocked out of competition after she finished 4th in her race.

Despite an unlucky finish, Kennedy-Sim earned herself 180 FIS points, putting her in 12th place on the overall world rankings.

With the top 32 competitors advancing to the quarter final stage, fellow 2014 Olympian, Anton Grimus did not advance after finishing in 47th spot after qualification. Grimus sits in 42nd spot in the world rankings.

Both Kennedy-Sim and Grimus will find out their 2018 Olympic fate this week as quota spots for the Games are confirmed.
