First Dry-Slope FUTURES Program run at Vertikal Snow Sports

Published Fri 22 Jan 2021

Snow Australia would like to thank all the athletes, parents and coaches that attended the Alpine Dryland FUTURES Program on the 19th and 20th of January in Canberra.

With international training unfortunately inaccessible this year, the dry-slope at Vertikal Indoor Snow Sports offered a unique opportunity for young athletes to come together and work on their fundamental Alpine skills with some of Australia’s leading coaches.

The program was run by former Perisher Winter Sports Club head coach Christian Geiger, with a focus on technical skill development.

The Physical Literacy of participants was also challenged through bouldering and slack-lining activities, which were enjoyed by all.

Snow Australia is regretful that some athletes missed out on an opportunity to attend due to limited places available and complications caused by border restrictions. We will look to run a similar program later in the year with priority registration given to those that missed out.

Thanks again to all the athletes, parents and coaches that made this happen.
