Ski Cross and Alpine Skiing got underway for Team Australia on a bitterly cold day four at the Gangwon 2024 Winter Youth Olympic Games.

SKI CROSS

Opening Ceremony Flag Bearer Duncan Cowan got his first taste of the Youth Olympics competition today finishing 6thoverall in the men’s ski cross. While teammate Bayley Sadler picked up 13 ranking points across his five heats, ultimately finishing in 17th place.

Also competing at the Welli Hilli Park Ski Resort was Dakota Turner in the women’s ski cross, who finished the day in 13th place after accumulating 15 ranking points in the heats.

Duncan Cowan and Dakota Turner will tomorrow form a team for the mixed team ski cross competition, kicking off at 12.45pm (AEDT).

ALPINE SKIING

Arkie Lennon lined up for Australia in the women’s giant slalom and unfortunately did not finish after clipping a gate on the first run.

She has one more opportunity to compete at Gangwon 2024 when the women's slalom is held on Thursday, while Max Kelly is set to make his Youth Olympic debut on Wednesday in the men’s giant slalom.
