Gold and silver for Perrine and Geiger at World Para Alpine Skiing Europa Cup

Aussie Melissa Perrine and guide Christian Geiger have started the World Para Alpine Skiing Europa Cup in style with a gold and silver medal on the opening day in Austria.
They led the charge for the Australians who delivered some strong performances in the Europa Cup as the competition builds towards PyeonChang Winter Olympics.
For Perrine, she was pleased with her results, she admitted there is still room for improvement.
“It’s a really good base to start from. I’ve had very little time on Super G skis so far this season so it was good up there.
“Some mistakes, a lot of things we can improve on so looking promising for the season.
“There a defiantly places I can clean a lot of stuff up, up there. It’s good, we’re in a strong position,” she said.
The Aussies were well represented, with the field also including Victoria Pendegrast, Shaun Pianta and guide Jeremy O’Sullivan, Jonty O’Callaghan, Patrick Jenson and guide Lara Falk, and Sam Tait.
Pendegrast was happy to start off with a fourth and fifth place but knows she’s got more to give.
“I thought it was a good base for Super G, I know can personally ski a lot better, but just happy with how it started and still a bunch to improve on.
“In fourth and a couple of seconds out, I know I can get that back,” she said.
