Interschools: South NSW and ACT Snowsports Championship postponed
Published Mon 12 Jul 2021
In line with the expanding COVID-19 numbers and subsequent restrictions announced by the NSW Premier over the weekend, Snow Australia Interschools has decided to postpone the July 20-23 South NSW & ACT Interschools Snowsport Championship.
Snow Australia Interschools recognise that a number of schools registered to compete in this Championship are located within the Greater Sydney Region which includes the Blue Mountains, Central Coast, Wollongong, and Shellharbour. We are conscious that our events require travel and accommodation for many schools, families, staff, and students and therefore wish to provide as much notice as possible.
We are currently developing a revised operational proposal for the scheduled August 23-27 State Interschools Snowsport Championships, which now considers the cancellation and/or postponement of all three major Regional events in 2021. This proposal will be developed in consultation with our School Coordinators, and our host resort partner – Perisher and we will advise details as soon as possible.
Snow Australia Interschools will continue to review the directions and decisions from the NSW, ACT and QLD School Education systems on their approach to large scale interschools sporting events in response to Public Health orders, over the coming weeks. Snow Australia Interschools communicates regularly with the NSW Department of Education, the NSW Department of Health, and actively monitors Education system communiques daily.
Event Refunds / Payments / Credits
We are considering these issues as we attempt to move forward during this challenging and evolving time and we will advise details as soon as possible.
Please note that due to the current high volume of phone requests and enquiries at this critical period of time, our preferred method of communication to general enquiries over the coming two-week period is via email where possible. School Coordinators with urgent enquiries and requests should ring as usual.
We thank you for your patience.
The Snow Australia Interschools Team.
