Surrounded by fellow world-beating champions at the NSWIS Institute of Sport Awards, Jakara Anthony’s incredible performances saw her awarded the Ian Thorpe AM Outstanding Performance award, as well as being a finalist for the NSW Office of Sport Female Athlete of the Year Award.
In her last season, Anthony created history by winning 14 gold medals and a bronze from 16 World Cup starts throughout the northern hemisphere’s season.
Her dominating performance in the northern hemisphere’s moguls events had her joining the record books for the most victories by a moguls skier in a world cup season.
Topping the moguls, dual moguls and overall standings, Anthony’s world class season also saw her win her second, third and fourth Crystal Globes.
As the only athlete who did not attend the Paris Olympics to win an award last night, her recognition truly highlights just how remarkable her season was.
Anthony shared the award with Para athlete Lauren Parker whose outstanding performance at the 2024 Paralympics saw her win gold in both Para Triathlon and Para Cycling.
