The Australian Interschools Snowsports Championships are over for another year.
Personal goals for the competition might have varied, but the common goal was that all participants were there to have fun.
Jindabyne Central School student Marlee Diver is a long time Interschools competitor. The year 11 student has competed every year since she was in year three.
Diver said her second place effort in the individual ski slopestyle event was something that excited her.
“I was not expecting the result and I was really proud of my efforts despite the variable conditions,” Diver said.
“Meeting all the other competitors and competing against my friends is what I like about the interschools event.”
With next year being her final year as an eligible age to compete at interschools, Diver looks forward to being able to help other people get on to the snow in the future.
“I’d really like to be a ski instructor one day – I love seeing people have that moment when they finally get it.”
