Local Sporting Champions

Are you planning to attend your snowsport state and/or national championships this winter?
Did you know you can apply for financial assistance to participate in your snowsport discipline’s state and/or national championships ?
Applicants could receive between $500-$750 towards the cost of attending their championships.
Applicants must meet the following criteria:
- Be turning 12 to 18 years of age in the same calendar year as the nominated championships
- Be an Australian citizen or have been granted permanent resident status, residing in Australia
- Be participating as an athlete, coach, or match official in an official state or national championships endorsed by Ski & Snowboard Australia
- Those attending a state championships must live more than 125 kilometres from the championships venue, and travel greater than 250 kilometres return to participate in the nominated championships. Those attending a national or international competition do not need to travel a minimum distance to be eligible.
- Must complete and submit the application prior to the nominated championships commencing
- Must incur out-of-pocket expenses equal to, or greater than, the grant amount they are eligible to receive.
You should submit an application once you have been selected to attend the championships and your participation has been confirmed and before the championships commence. There are two rounds per year and Round 1 applications close 30 June 2019.
