50 years FIS Alpine Ski World Cup – Organisers presented with anniversary bibsLast winter, the FIS Alpine Ski World Cup celebrated its 50-year anniversary. To honour the contribution of the World Cup Organisers, FIS took the opportunity of presenting the National Ski Associations and their Organising Committees with a special anniversary edition FIS Alpine Ski World Cup jubilee starting bib in conjunction with the Calendar Conference in Portoroz, and a personally signed letter in recognition of the essential role played by them. |

Snowboard, Freestyle and FreeskiThe FIS Calendar Conference featured the first meeting of the newly created Snowboard, Freestyle and Freeski Committee, which was attended by more than 120 participants including a significant number of Organising Committees and other stakeholders. Under the revised structure, the four new Sub-Committees for Park and Pipe, Cross, Moguls and Aerials, Snowboard Alpine, as well as Youth & Children’s Questions also met. |

Alpine SkiingThe Alpine Skiing discipline is going through an “evolution, but not a revolution”, adjusting several rules and regulations to make the sport more attractive and increase it’s impact. From a regulation perspective, a few adjustments were made for course setting, basic quota, online entries and team and service personnel accommodation rules for World Cup level. |

FIS Council decisionsThe FIS Council held its Spring Meeting in Portoroz (SLO) on Sunday 28th May 2017 and dealt with a full agenda, including regular items such as reports from Organising Committees of the FIS World Championships and Olympic Winter Games, the appointment of technical officials, proposals from the FIS Technical Committees, FIS World Cup calendars and updates to various rules. |
