National Alpine Committee update
Published Thu 04 May 2017
SSA recently called for Expressions of Interest to be considered for appointment to the SSA National Alpine Committee (NAC).
SSA was pleased with the level and quality of interest from the broader Alpine community.
As was outlined in the call for EOI’s the exercise was primarily a “freshening up” to ensure there is an appropriate mix of skills, experience and an effective connection to the various communities in order to deliver the strategic objectives of the Alpine Committee and the organisation.
To this end SSA will announce the composition of the NAC in two stages.
First, we are pleased to confirm the appointment of returning members together with additional appointments based on specific subject matter expertise. The clubs/pathway programs require additional time to reach a consensus position on a suitable list of nominees for the Board to consider filling the important community/club connection role(s) on the NAC. Further, there are some specific subject matter experts which the NAC seek candidates for including the area of Strength and Conditioning.
- Lachlan Clark (Chair)
- Katya Crema
- Matt Lyons
- Scott Sanderson
- Michael Dickson
- Alice Chilcott
- AJ Jones
- Brad Wall (New Alpine Director to join NAC on appointment)
NATIONAL ALPINE COMMITTEE – PROPOSED REVISED MEMBERSHIP
The Board would like to thank retiring members Manfred Wolscher and Thomas Reitstatter for their contributions to the NAC. In addition, Al Gus has been recognized as an Honorary member joining Cliff Mason and Greg McCormack in this space. James Neill’s re-appointment will be considered along with the community/club connection roles as outlined above.
