Nominations Now Open - School Categories

Ski & Snowboard Australia (SSA) nominations for school awards for the Australia Ski and Snowboard Awards are now open. Each year in April, SSA recognise their athletes and coaches as well as there being two school award categories; "Snowsports School of the Year" and "Outstanding Achievement of the Year for Small Schools" from the Interschool Championships. 

Snowsports School of the Year -

An award to highlight the contribution of a School Snowsports Program. Criteria is available on the Nomination Form

Previous Winners:

  • 2016 - Jindabyne Central School
  • 2015 - Caulfield Grammar 
  • 2014 - The Scots College

Outstanding Achievement of the Year for Small Schools - 

An award to highlight a single outstanding or unique schools snowsports activity program.

Small Schools are classified by:

  • Secondary Schools who have entered 24 or less competitors
  • Primary Schools who have entered 9 or less competitors

  • 2016 - Wenona 
  • 2015 - St Clares College Canberra 
  • 2014 - Manly Village Public School

Nomination Period 1 January 2016 to 31 December 2016. Previous National Award winners are excluded from applying for a period of 3 years after winning the award. Nominations are to be judged by State Interschool Committees, with finalists put forward to SSA for final judging and ratification. The 2017 Australian Ski & Snowboard Awards will be held on Thursday 27 April, 2017 at the Maia, Docklands, Melbourne.
