Nominees for Australian Ski & Snowboards Awards Athletes of the Year Announced

Nominees for the 2018 Athlete of the Year have been announced ahead of the annual Australian Ski & Snowboard Awards which will be held in Melbourne on May 3.

Australia’s Olympic and Paralympic ski and snowboard athletes will gather for the sport’s night of nights and celebrate the achievements of this unique group who have performed outstanding on the international stage.

Ski & Snowboard Australia’s Chief Executive Officer Michael Kennedy says the Awards night will celebrate the hard work and sacrifice by the athletes from juniors through to seniors.

“The SSA Awards Night will once again bring together the best of the best in our sport as we prepare to celebrate what has been an exceptional year for Australia’s elite snow sport athletes.

“In the past 12 months, the Olympic and Paralympic Games has showcased the excellent talent of Australia’s skiing and snowboarding athletes, it is an exciting time to be involved in the sport.

“It’s also an opportunity for all our supporters and fans to celebrate alongside our athletes. I’d encourage people to get their tickets online and join us for this great night,” he said.

Along with Athlete of the Year and Para Snowsport Athlete of the Year, presentations will be made in six other categories including Junior Athlete of the Year, Rising Star, Outstanding Achievement, Coach of the Year, Para Snowsport Coach of the Year and Development Coach of the Year.
