During this five-day event, students from 212 schools across Northern NSW and QLD will compete in races spanning from Alpine, Boarder Cross, Moguls, Snowboard GS, and Ski Cross disciplines.
The top five teams and top ten individuals from each event will progress through to the Subaru NSW State Interschools Championship next month at Thredbo.
The NSW/ACT Interschools State Manager, Wendy Olsen, stated “It can be a student’s introduction entry level race, so they can find out what ski and snowboard racing is all about and come back next year."
“But it is also an event where people compete at every year for their school, the whole event is a great representation of school spirit.
“These events provide students a stepping stone to go on and do other events and programs after experiencing ski and snowboard in a friendly environment,”
After the first full day of competition concluded yesterday, the atmosphere between racegoers was electric.
“Everyone is pretty excited to have done one race already and looking forward to the week ahead under sunny skies and beautiful snow conditions,” said Olsen.
