NSTC Free Intro2Plastics in February

Published Thu 09 Feb 2023

The National Snowsports Training Centre (NSTC) in Jindabyne has a special offer for the month of February to come along and join the Air Bag Intro2Plastic induction sessions for FREE!

These free sessions will be held every Thursday from 4 - 4.45pm and Friday from 3 - 3.45pm, running 9 - 23 February at the NSTC Air Bag.  We encourage all our local community members and families to come along.

The sessions run for 45 minutes and will safely introduce you to our airbag and dry snow surface by practicing falling, sliding and stopping, along with exiting the bag and correct signalling. This is not a learn to ski or snowboard session as you must already be a competent rider.

We ask that you arrive 20 minutes prior to the session commencing for check-in, an equipment check and to watch the safety video.  You will be required to wear a helmet, gloves and ensure that your arms and legs are fully covered.  Bring your skis or snowboard which we will check to ensure that there are no cracks or damage to your equipment.

Spaces are limited for each Intro2Plastic session so please book online early and use the code FREEINTROFEB at the checkout when completing your booking.

Participants must have Snowracer membership and will require your username and password to book.  This type of Snow Australia membership is FREE and available through the Snow Australia website.  If you already have a Snowracer membership through your involvement at the NSTC Acro or Interschools just make sure it is active before booking.  You can check your details through the SnowID Lookup.

The Intro2Plastic only needs to be completed once and an induction certificate will be uploaded into your membership profile for future reference.  Once you have completed the Intro2Plastic session you can book into any of our community Air Bag sessions which are held on Wednesday and Friday afternoons, along with two sessions on Saturday and the occasional session on Sunday morning.  Check the schedule for times and links to book.

If you are hooked and wish to attend any of the community sessions, you will be required to upgrade your membership from Snowracer to NSTC Access.  This can be done easily through the Snow Australia website at a cost of $70.  While most Snow Australia memberships need renewing on 1 May, please note that any new NSTC Access memberships that are registered from 1 January up until 30 April will automatically roll over, and you will not need to renew until May 1, 2024 - giving you up to 4 months additional membership!

Not sure about sliding but just want to have a look and see what’s involved?  That’s OK……  Come along regardless and we will walk you through the facility and explain how we operate.  We are keen to spread the word that the NSTC is open to anyone in the community to come along, have fun and learn some new skills before hitting the snow during winter.

Need assistance or have questions?  Please don’t hesitate to contact our NSTC Team.
