NSW Junior Freestyle Series primes young mogul skiers
Published Wed 26 Jul 2017
Fifty-one mogul skiers under the age of 14 competed in the NSW Junior Series hosted by NSW Freestyle at Thredbo over the weekend.
The course was specially built to create an entry level event for young mogul skiers as a small step up from Interschools.
The event was timed and had both a top and bottom air to provide extra challenge.
All competitors had lots of fun with a strong emphasis on participation and athletes knocked out of the first round duals had a second chance opportunity to get more runs in and compete against others in an evenly matched dual.
“We’d like to thank Thredbo Resort and Mike Haid’s team who did an excellent job of hosting the event and we thank all of the volunteers and NSW Freestyle Committee for their efforts over the weekend” said Daniel Bosco of NSW Freestyle.
Thanks also to sponsors Rhythm Sports who ensured that lots of prizes were available for all competitors.
Saturday singles winners:
- U11 Girls – Alexandria Quinn
- U11 Boys – Charlie Howes
- U14 Girls – Hannah Jones
- U14 Boys – Flynn Mooney
Sunday duals winners:
- Girls – Hannah Jones
- Boys – Julius Keller.
