The Olympic Winter Institute of Australia (OWIA), in collaboration with Ski and Snowboard Australia (SSA), is proud to announce an exciting new partnership with Club Med that supports and rewards Australia’s elite winter athletes in the lead up to the 2022 Beijing Olympic Winter Games.
Through the partnership, OWIA programs, along with SSA’s two Para winter sport programs, will gain access to Club Med’s 20+ mountain resorts around the world, to support athletes with enhanced on-snow accommodation and recovery facilities during targeted training camps and competitions.
Club Med will also provide recognition for athlete’s hard training, outstanding performance, and positive attitude aligning with the OWIA / SSA / Club Med shared values of excellence, responsibility, and passion, by awarding athletes with their choice of any of Club Med’s 70+ resorts worldwide, as an extraordinary reward holiday.
OWIA Chief Executive Officer, Geoff Lipshut says, “We’re thrilled to announce our partnership with Club Med, helping to support and reward our high performing Australian athletes.
“Majority of our programs operate in the northern hemisphere during the winter time and having access to multiple Club Med facilities across the world will be a really valuable inclusion into the running of these programs.”
On working with the OWIA, Madeleine Clow-Suares, General Manager, Club Med Australia and New Zealand says, “Since 1956 we have been committed to offering a world-class snow experience (both on and off the slopes) in the best ski domains in the world. We are very proud to launch into this joint venture with the Olympic Winter Institute of Australia. We are dedicated to supporting both the team and the growth of awareness of skiing in Australia. Together we will work hand in hand with the OWIA to spread the joy of snow holidays and the passion of Olympians.”
The exciting new partnership kicked off with a bang at last week’s 2018 Ski and Snowboard Awards, with the five 2018 PyeongChang Olympic and Paralympic Medalists being awarded the inaugural holiday rewards in recognition of their achievements in South Korea earlier this year.
